(Preheat oven to 400) Now Brown 2 lbs ground beef and add:
- 1 chopped onion
- large T minced garlic and a little juice
- 1 beef bullion cube
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp thyme leaves chopped
- 2 tsp Worchester Sauce
- 1/4 cup catsup
Stir up to meld the flavors and soften the onions
Mix 3 T flour into 2 cups cold water then stir this into the beef mixture. Reduce heat to low to med. and simmer till thickened – about 15 minutes.
Pour into large baking pan (9×13) and add a pkg of frozen peas and carrots and stir into the meat then flatten out the mixture in the pan.
Use 6-7 potatoes – Peel, cut up and boil 20 minutes until tender. Drain the potatoes and return to the hot pan to help evaporate any liquid left on the potatoes. Then Mash and add the following:
- 2 T butter
- 1/4 to 1/2 cup milk
- 3 to 4 T cream cheese
You need the potatoes wet and loose and then add and mix in:
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup parmesan cheese (grated)
- 1 egg yolk only
Layer on top of the meat and smooth out with a fork. Sprinkle with Paprika and pepper flakes if you want.
Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes.
