Cranberry jello salad (Eileen)

1 c. ground cranberries (mine are usually frozen, I measure and then rinse them, and I grind them in my food processor (I throw my orange in at the same time to grind)
1 c. sugar (I use same amount of bagged granulated Splenda instead)
1 1/2 c. boiling water
3 oz. pkg any flavor red jello (I use either raspberry or cherry, and I use sugar-free jello)
8 oz. can crushed pineapple, drained
1/4-1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/4 c. ground orange, peel and all
Mix cranberries and sugar, and let sit for sugar to dissolve.  Add jello to boiling water, stirring to dissolve.  Refrigerate (or freeze, if you’re in a hurry) the jello until partially set.  Add cranberry mixture, pineapples, nuts and orange.  Stir and chill until well set, a couple of hours.
